频谱 is the quarterly scientific journal of the Center for Photochemical 科学 mailed to over 10,000 persons worldwide.  Distributed at no charge, the journal was designed as an outreach program to provide scientists an opportunity to communicate the latest results in the photochemical sciences in an informal format.

频谱 fills a niche in the scientific community between refereed journals and more newsy, popular magazines. It is consistently cited in refereed journals, and used in university classes all over the world. Scientists in third-world countries, who cannot afford to subscribe to refereed journals, often depend on 频谱 as their primary source of current scientific information. Industrial sponsors of 频谱 generously support publication and mailing expenses.
